The "Automatic" Sail – No Pumping Required

Besides being extremely light, the FIRELIGHT has the unique feature of being an "automatic" sail. No pumping required – hook in and hold on. They are that easy to use! 

Optimized for Reduced Rig Weight

The range was designed to rig on shorter masts than other sails in our lineup, with the 6.0m perfectly suited to a 400cm mast, further reducing overall rig weight. The key materials used are the Technora patch reinforcing and the super-light laminates we designed with USA-based market leader DP Sailcloth®. These exotic materials enable us to deliver a super-light, responsive sail that withstands the toughest conditions.

It is designed to remain clear, strong and usable through ultraviolet exposure, repeated folding, windblown sand and normal sail or wing handling. It can be stitched into the surrounding structure and is intended to remain cleanable throughout the useful life of the product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I always rig to the exact printed luff and boom measurements?

Use the printed numbers as initial references. Actual settings can vary because extension scales, boom-head position, mast generation and personal preference are not identical. Mark the settings that produce the best result on your own mast and extension.

How tight should battens be?

Battens should be tight enough to support the intended profile and remove wrinkles caused by insufficient tension. They should not be tightened until they visibly bow while the sail is unloaded. Under-tension produces creases and an unstable draft; excessive tension stresses pockets and end fittings.

What is InSight Vision® window material?

What is the ROX webbing luff sleeve?

ROX is Hot Sails Maui’s exclusive luff-sleeve structure made from UMWPE webbing woven exclusively for Hot Sails Maui by a specialized high-tech weaver. It was developed to create an exceptionally light and strong sleeve while maintaining the controlled stretch needed for the sail to rig and shape correctly. The webbing carries the structural loads without requiring the weight and bulk of a conventional full woven-cloth sleeve.
